Orthodontics: from which authorities can I get a reimbursement?

Please note: you must first submit your expenses to your mutuality to apply for the statutory and supplementary intervention, before submitting your expenses to Vanbreda.

1. First you check whether there is a reimbursement from the statutory insurance of your mutuality.

• Every mutuality provides a reimbursement for orthodontics for young people. This reimbursement is fixed by the RIZIV / INAMI and the amount is therefore the same for each mutuality.

2. Are you entitled to an additional reimbursement from the supplementary insurance of your mutuality?

• This is an additional reimbursement and the amount and conditions differ from one mutuality to another. You often have to request this additional reimbursement separately from your mutualitye They do not always reimburse this automatically.

3. You may also have a reimbursement from an additional dental insurance, through your mutuality or an insurance you have taken out yourself.
