How can I install two-step authentication with an Authenticator app?

Go to https://login.vanbreda.be.
Sign in with your username and password.
Go to 'Security & privacy' and click on 'Set up' under Two-step authentication.
Here you need to log in again with your username and password to prove it is you.
In the next steps, you have the choice of either scanning a QR code or entering a setting key.
- The easiest way to set up the Authenticator is via your desktop/laptop, as you can scan the QR code with your mobile device.
- If you only have a mobile device, then you have to copy and paste the setup key to your security app.
You will see the page 'Set up multifactor authentication'.
Choose the option Authenticator.
- Do you already have an Authenticator app on your device? Then choose your phone type and click next.
- Don't have an Authenticator app yet? Then download it on your mobile device via the download button on the screen. When the installation is complete, choose your device type and click on 'Next'.
Option 1: Are you logged in on a laptop/desktop?
- Then open your Authenticator app, click on the + at the bottom right, choose scan a QR code and scan the QR code with your mobile device.
- A new account will be created in your Authenticator app with a unique code. This code will refresh automatically after a few seconds. You can see how long the code is valid by the little circle next to it.
Option 2: Are you logged in on a mobile device?
- Then tap on 'Can't scan barcode?'.
- On the next screen, you will see a set up key that you can copy by pressing on it.
- Open the Authenticator app, click on the + at the bottom right.
- Choose 'Enter a setup key'.
- Give your account a name (e.g. Vanbreda app).
- Paste the long key and save. A unique code will appear in your app. This code will refresh automatically after a few seconds. You can see how long the code is valid by the little circle next to it.
Go back to your browser and tap on 'Next'.
Enter your unique code from your Authenticator app and tap on 'Verify'.
You will return to the setup page, where you will see that Authentication via Authenticator is now enabled.
At the bottom, click on 'Finish'.
Done! Your extra security layer has been set up successfully.
What's next?
- The next time you log into the Vanbreda app, you will get an extra screen to enter your security code from the Authenticator app.
- Read the code from your Authenticator app and enter it.
- Click on 'Verify'.
- After entering the code, you will return to your app dashboard and you will be able to manage your medical record in complete security.
